Submission of works must take place by 06/16; This year’s edition will open on 08/31
The 51st Piracicaba International Humor Exhibition, held by Piracicaba City Hall, through Semac (Secretariat for Cultural Action) and Cedhu (Piracicaba National Graphic Humor Center) opened this year’s registrations today, 4/04. The registration form and regulations, which provide dates, participation rules, prizes and other information, are available on the event website salaointernacionaldehumor.com.br. The 51st edition will open on 08/31.
As the regulations highlight, entries for works in all categories must be made by June 16th. The document also establishes the 51st Piracicaba International Humor Exhibition, which will be open to free visitors at Armazém 14, in Parque do Engenho Central, until 11/3.
The new features of the 2024 edition are the Arcor Institute Award – Children’s Law, in honor of the Institute’s 20 years in Brazil, in addition to the Thematic Award category, which this year is Women.
Regarding the participation of artists, the regulations point out that professionals and amateurs can submit authorial works that were not previously selected and were not awarded at the Piracicaba International Humor Exhibition or other graphic events until the registration closing date.
Work can be sent by post or courier, by email or in person at Cedhu, which is located in the Engenho Central administrative building.
Each artist can submit a maximum of three works per category, which in this 51st edition are: cartoon (graphic humor with universal and timeless themes), cartoon (graphic humor with current journalistic themes), caricature (graphic humor that expresses physical features and/or or known personality character). strips/comics (graphic art in sequence; for comics, stories with a maximum of two pages will be accepted) and sculptures ((3D humor works), in addition to the Unimed Saúde Award.
Junior Kadeshi, director of the Humor Salon, comments on this stage of the 51st edition. “We launched the regulations for the 2024 edition with the expectation of surpassing the registration records of previous years. The Woman Theme, suggested for this year, opens up a sea of inspiration for artists from all over the world to venture out and talk about this extraordinary and wonderful being, from where we all come!”
PRIZES – The 51st edition will offer R$90,000 in purchasing prizes. There will be five prizes worth R$7,500.00 each, divided between categories – cartoon, cartoon, caricature, sculpture and strips. The Thematic – Women category will also award a prize of R$ 7,500.00, intended for works in any category (cartoon, cartoon, caricature or strip).
There is also a prize of R$ 15,000.00 called the Grand Prize, chosen from the winners in the five basic categories (cartoon, cartoon, caricature, sculpture, comic strip and thematic prize).
The award called the Alceu Marozi Righetto Popular Jury Award will award R$7,500.00 via open electronic voting. Competing works will be chosen from among the honorable mentions chosen by the Selection Jury. The nominees, as well as the voting period and location, will be announced at the opening of the event.
The Piracicaba Chamber of Councilors Award, exclusive to the caricature category, will offer R$7,500.00. There is another prize of R$ 7,500.00 called the Unimed Health Prize, intended for works in any category that explore the health theme, paid by the company Unimed Piracicaba.
And, finally, there will be a prize worth R$7,500.00, called the Arcor Institute Prize – Children’s Rights, intended for works in any category that explore the theme of children’s rights, paid directly to the artist by the Arcor Institute.
51º Salón Internacional del Humor de Piracicaba abre inscripciones

La 51ª Muestra Internacional de Humor de Piracicaba, realizada por la Municipalidad de Piracicaba, a través de la Semac (Secretaría de Acción Cultural) y el Cedhu (Centro Nacional de Humor Gráfico de Piracicaba), abrió las inscripciones para este año hoy, 04/04. El formulario de inscripción y el reglamento, que proporciona fechas, reglas de participación, premios y otras informaciones, están disponibles en el sitio web del evento salaointernacionaldehumor.com.br. La 51ª edición se inaugurará el 31/08.

Como destaca el reglamento, las inscripciones para obras de todas las categorías deberán realizarse antes del 16 de junio. El documento también establece la 51ª Muestra Internacional de Humor de Piracicaba, que estará abierta al público de forma gratuita en Armazém 14, en el Parque do Engenho Central, hasta el 3/11.
Las novedades de la edición 2024 son el Premio Instituto Arcor – Derecho del Niño, en homenaje a los 20 años del Instituto en Brasil, además de la categoría Premio Temático, que este año es Mujer.
En cuanto a la participación de artistas, el reglamento señala que profesionales y aficionados pueden presentar obras de autor que no hayan sido previamente seleccionadas y no premiadas en el Salón Internacional del Humor de Piracicaba u otros eventos gráficos hasta la fecha de cierre de inscripciones.
Los trabajos pueden enviarse por correo postal o mensajería, por correo electrónico o personalmente en Cedhu, que está ubicado en el edificio administrativo de Engenho Central.
Cada artista podrá presentar un máximo de tres obras por categoría, que en esta 51 edición son: cartoon (humor gráfico con temática universal y atemporal), cartoon (humor gráfico con temática periodística de actualidad), caricatura (humor gráfico que expresa rasgos físicos y/o o carácter de personalidad conocido). tiras/comics (arte gráfico en secuencia; para cómics se aceptarán historias con un máximo de dos páginas) y esculturas ((obras de humor 3D), además del Premio Unimed Saúde.

El Tema Mujer, sugerido para este año, abre un mar de inspiración para que artistas de todo el mundo se aventuren y hablen sobre este ser extraordinario y maravilloso, ¡de donde venimos todos!
PREMIOS – La 51ª edición ofrecerá R$ 90.000 en premios de compras. Serán cinco premios valorados en R$ 7.500,00 cada uno, divididos en categorías: caricatura, caricatura, escultura y tira cómica. La categoría Temática – Mujeres también otorgará un premio de R$ 7.500,00, destinado a trabajos de cualquier categoría (dibujo animado, historieta, caricatura o tira cómica).
También hay un premio de R$ 15.000,00 denominado Gran Premio, elegido entre los ganadores en las cinco categorías básicas (dibujo animado, historieta, caricatura, escultura, historieta y premio temático).
El premio, denominado Premio del Jurado Popular Alceu Marozi Righetto, otorgará R$ 7.500,00 mediante votación electrónica abierta. Las obras a concurso se elegirán entre las menciones honoríficas elegidas por el Jurado de Selección. Los nominados, así como el periodo de votación y el lugar, se anunciarán en la inauguración del evento.
El Premio de la Cámara de Consejeros de Piracicaba, exclusivo de la categoría caricatura, ofrecerá R$ 7.500,00. Existe otro premio de R$ 7.500,00 denominado Premio Unimed Salud, destinado a trabajos de cualquier categoría que exploren la temática salud, pagado por la empresa Unimed Piracicaba.
Y, finalmente, habrá un premio valorado en R$ 7.500,00, denominado Premio Instituto Arcor – Derechos del Niño, destinado a obras de cualquier categoría que exploren la temática de los derechos del niño, pagado directamente al artista por el Instituto Arcor.
